Our fabulous development side in the under 15s have had a monumental month, bouncing back from a difficult January that saw them go without a win.

Team manager Andy Rudge has stuck by his players, taught them in just the right way how to come back from successive losses and has made sure his side are difficult to beat in the league, picking up 7 of the 9 available points.

The first game of the month came away against Rastrick Juniors in a game that was slow to come out of the blocks. Both sides were even at half-time, but following the break and some inspiring words from Rudge, Scissett were able to turn it around, and find an opener. Rastrick responded in kind, scoring an equaliser not long after but, as always, Scissett generated another chance and managed to net the winner with just 10 minutes left to play.

Their next game again came away, as they faced Gomersal and Cleckheaton, in a tie that saw the spoils shared as Scissett drew 2-2 with a strong side. This time out Scissett managed to go into the break 1-0 up, however an eager opposition saw them get pegged back, and the teams had to settle for a point apiece.

Scissett U15s final game of the month saw them come up against Wyke Wanderers Juniors, in a game that truly opened the floodgates of their goal scoring potential. Scissett smashed four past Wyke without a response, meaning a good day for both forwards and the defence, as they picked up an all-important clean sheet.

These three mega results see Scissett remain in second place of the Huddersfield Fox Engravers Junior Football League and just four points off the top spot. If they continue to put out performances and results like these, they should be well poised to finish the season on a high!!

Manager Andy Rudge is very impressed with his side, as he says “The U15s' performances improved in February, after a couple of disappointing results in January. U15s picked up 2 wins and 1 draw throughout February, the pick of the results was a 2-1 away win at Rastrick, with a last-minute winner from Jake. Another solid performance last weekend secured another 3 points in a 2-1 away win, at top of the table Littletown. The effort and commitment of the whole squad has been superb all season, a top set of lads, they are a pleasure to coach.”
