Nortonthorpe Sports Club: a history

The Nortonthorpe grounds were donated by the Nortonthorpe family to the Sports Club in 1949. The grounds must remain as a community asset and Nortonthorpe Sports Club are trustees for the grounds, ensuring their care and upkeep in accordance with the Charity Commission laws. We strive to grow the club to offer something for everyone in the community. From humble beginnings as a field, we have two award winning football pictures, a beautiful Forget Me Not Trail, a tranquil wooded area and fantastic views across the Dearne Valley.
